Avert Your Eyes

Do not embarrass the King:
Article 112 of Thailand’s criminal code states that anyone who insults the king, queen, heir or regent will be sentenced up to 15 years in prison.

Earlier this month the King threatened to sue Facebook because users posted videos of him in public at a German shopping mall wearing a crop top. The footage quickly went viral.

According to the current law, the technology crime suppression police division has to ask internet service providers for cooperation, which ISPs are not required to provide. It is unclear how they will enforce this interpretation.
